Two Royal Caribbean cruise lines cancel Puerto Rico stops over violent protests
Royal Caribbean International’s cruise liner Empress of the Seas has cancelled its port contact San Juan, Puerto Rico, yesterday because of violent protests against Puerto Rico’s Governor Ricardo Rosselló.
“In light of current unrest in San Juan, Puerto Rico, we’ve cancelled today’s call to San Juan,” Owen Torres, communications manager for Royal Caribbean said in a statement on Tuesday.
Empress of Seas was re-routed to Tortola in the British Virgin ship&rsquo and Islands; s passengers shall receive refunds for prepaid San Juan shore activities, in accordance with cruise line officials.
A second Royal Caribbean ship, Harmony of the Seas, has skipped a scheduled stop by at San Juan, Earlier today puerto Rico.
