Welcomes third new cruise liner for 2019 season amawaterways
AmaWaterways, an extravagance river cruise line, today celebrated the christening of its new 156-passenger vessel, AmaMora. Co-Founders Rudi Kristin and Schreiner Karst joined Mayor Adalbert Dornbusch of Lahnstein, Germany and Godmother Libbie Rice, president of Ensemble Travel Group, for each day of festivities officially commemorating the company’s third new ship launched through the 2019 season. AmaMora shall sail the enchanting Rhine river, while recent launches of AmaMagna and AmaDouro expand the company’s presence on the Danube and in Portugal, respectively.
“Year for all of us it has truly been a record-breaking, and we have been very proud to welcome AmaMora to your wonderful fleet of ships which are built to meet up with the needs of today’s travelers who crave a personalized and luxurious vacation experience,” said Schreiner. “With multiple dining venues, a well-equipped gym with a Wellness Host and heated pool with swim up bar, AmaMora’s design reflects her latest sister ships, AmaKristina and amalea, but her fresh, rich color scheme is her very own uniquely.”
The garland trimmed ship found its way to Lahnstein where guests, travel and media partners were joined by local dignitaries and residents for a particular “Rhine Romanticism” themed dockside ceremony. Each guest was offered a hand-made wine flower and leaf pin to wear because the festivities began. Framed by the spectacular backdrop of Stolzenfels Castle, local entertainers gave guests a taste of Lahnstein’s rich heritage by way of a performance by way of a “shanty” choir – a men’s choir that sings traditional maritime songs – and an elegantly costumed dance group performing traditional dances from the first 19th century.

Following the speeches, signing of the guestbook and a blessing of the ship, Godmother Rice officially named AmaMora with the original breaking of a champagne bottle on the ship’s hull.
“Today i’m so thrilled to be christening the stunning AmaMora. ‘Ama’ means love, and the love could be felt by me that is placed into this ship – from her breathtaking design and craftsmanship to her warm, thoughtful service, not to mention, the planned itineraries she’ll sail through a few of Europe&rsquo meticulously;s most amazing destinations,” said Rice. “I understand all who sail on AmaMora shall have the same sense of homecoming i did so, the brief moment they step up to speed.”
AmaMora’s inaugural season is on the Rhine river sailing seven-night cruises between Basel and Amsterdam. Guests can enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows in the ship’s lounge area, the signature twin balcony staterooms and the spacious Sun Deck, all made to provide breathtaking views of the passing scenery thoughtfully. A highlight of the Rhine cruises may be the scenic 40-mile voyage through the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Rhine Gorge using its steep valley sides included in terraced vineyards and much more than 40 hilltop castles, some dating to Roman times back. Specific itineraries are the Enchanting Rhine, Captivating Rhine, and Christmas Markets on the Rhine. Within the company’month s first-ever Loyalty Appreciation, returning guests will be recognized with a particular Christmas Markets on the Rhine sailing up to speed AmaMora, november 25 departing, 2019.
