Giant grasshopper swarm invades NEVADA
The insect invasion has been related to the wet weather experienced by the area&rsquo unusually; s desert-like climate normally. This year, NEVADA has recorded more rain in half a year that the annual average.
Tourists and Vegas residents alike shared intense footage of the massive swarms that drove folks from the usually bustling strip to take cover.
Unlike locusts, a devastating species that may clear huge swathes of vegetation within their path, these migratory pallid-winged grasshoppers are native to THE UNITED STATES. The insects’ migration up north is likely to be complete in 2-3 weeks, in accordance with Nevada’s state entomologist.
