Budapest Airport boosts connectivity with Wizz Air
Looking to 2020 ahead, Budapest Airport has announced enhancements to its route network with home-based airline partner, Wizz Air. Set to commence next summer, the Hungarian low-cost carrier (LCC) will undoubtedly be operating an everyday service to Brussels, and new twice-weekly links to Kharkiv and Lviv in Ukraine.
By strengthening Hungary’s links with the Belgian capital, Wizz Air gains an instantaneous 26% share of most weekly flights between your two cities. Because the LCC joins existing services on the route, the addition of the brand new flights during S20 shall see Budapest offer near 150,000 seasonal seats to Brussels next summer.
Increasing connectivity to Ukraine, sufficient reason for no direct competition on either link, Wizz Air shall add Budapest’ s fifth and fourth connections to the Eastern European country. Because the ongoing services to Lviv and Kharkiv join the airline’s existing links to Kiev and Odesa (to launch in November), the carrier shall offer 15 weekly flights to Ukraine.

“Wizz Air’s confirmation of further links to Ukraine will dsicover Budapest offer its customers a complete of 22 weekly operations to the growing nation nestled in Eastern Europe,” says Balázs Bogáts, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport. “This latest announcement shall see our closely-held partner offer 71 city pairs next summer and, because the demand is recognised by the airline for further capacity on our services to Brussels, we turn to continuing our growing partnership with this particular dynamic carrier forward,” adds Bogáts.
