Tourists in Waikiki are running to hotels for safety. Hawaii Civil defense sirens went off around 5.00 pm Hawaii time. It seems the complete Island of Oahu is under an undefined threat.

911 phone and service service to civil defense is apparently unavailable. A 911 call answered visited the U.S. mainland to an operator who said the service is overwhelmed and calls are re-routed. She didn’t know why the alarm went off but suggested to stay indoors.
