Kenya Convention Bureau names new chief
The newly-created Kenya Convention Bureau announced that Mrs. Jacinta Nzioka has been appointed as its new director.
Previously, Jacinta served for quite some time as Director of Marketing at the Kenya Tourism Board. At one stage she was Acting CEO while a fresh CEO had been sourced also.
It is understood that parliamentary oversight may need to confirm the appointment still. However, given her track reputation and record, she will without doubt see her confirmation being tracked fast.
Jacinta Nzioka said, she actually is pleased to take the task of leading the establishment of the convention bureau and getting excited about Kenya taking opportunity of the MICE business since it gives faster profits on return.
The Principal Secretary of Tourism shall chair the Advisory Board for the operation of the Convention Bureau. Other membership comprises Principal Secretaries from Foreign Affairs, National Treasury, Trade, Sports, CEO of Kenya Tourism Board, CEO of KEPSA, CEO of Kenya Tourism Federation, and the KNCCI CEO.
