Sands Resorts Macao and art collective teamLab will launch a monumental digital-only museum at The Venetian Macao in January 2020.
The as-yet-untitled permanent museum will be housed in The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo Hall F, boasting 5,000 square meters of living area. With eight meter-high ceilings throughout, space will undoubtedly be transformed by teamLab into an complex extremely, three-dimensional world with varying elevations, featuring changing constantly, immersive artworks. Currently, under construction, the museum shall unveil new pieces.
What teamLab calls a “body immersive” museum, the brand new destination at The Venetian Macao is a world of artworks that blur the boundaries between your body and art, challenging the traditional notion of the ‘physical’. Visitors will immerse themselves in the creative art with others, permitting them to explore new, continuous relationships that transcend the boundaries between themselves and the global world.
Established in 2001, teamLab can be an international art collective, interdisciplinary band of artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, architects and mathematicians whose collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, design and the natural world. The group has held popular exhibitions worldwide hugely, using its stunning installations shared on social media marketing widely.
teamLab aims to explore a fresh relationship between nature and humans, and between people and the global world through art. Digital technology has allowed art to liberate itself from the transcend and physical boundaries. teamLab sees no boundary between nature and humans, and between individuals and the global world. Everything exists in an extended, fragile, miraculous yet, borderless continuity of life.
